Dear Covienetters,

The Covenanter Bookstore Kobe Japan made a new Japanese Psalm CD. It is beautifully done. The Famous Korean Accapella Choir Group: Ongi- zyan-i had accepted our request. They prayerfully practiced Japanese Psalters and recorded this at a Korean government owned studio in Seoul. Japan Presbytery and Covenanter Bookstore Board jointly supported this major project(\1,500,000). This decision was from our desire to popularize our Japanese psalter among Japanese evangelical christians. This accapella choir group and thier CDs are now very popular among Japanese evangelicals.

We plan to ask C&C to distribute this for American and Canadian RPC, but CBS in Kobe maybe able to send it to you, if you really want to listen it now. (\2,100+postage covenant@hf.rim.or.jp) It is Japanese 16 psalters selected from 2000 RPJapan edition of the psalter book, and sung by selected Korean christian vocalists of the choir. It is really beautiful with descant tune and you will surely feel dedicated prayer of Korean christians for Japanese evangelism, too. I recommend you to give this to your Japanese friends as a gift, or to listen by yourself even if you are the one who does not understand Japanese, since it is the same psalms, so you know the content anyway: Christ's Kingship and Covenant emphasized as a summary of Old Testament Praise. You may feel the same faith in Christ of Korean and Japanese christians by listening this CD. Yes, singing the psalm is inter- cultural: Biblical culture under Christ's rule. It doesnot impose so- called western culture to us, not like the case of various kinds of western church music, though many of its tunes reflect the course of His church's history.

The Covenanter Bookstore's Homepage was just started, and will soon provide an opportunity to listen a part of this CD for free, according to the chairman of Kobe-CBS Board, elder Kazuo Ishii.
