Dear Covienetters,

Japan Presbytery had two meetings in June 31 and July 6 (the presbyterial evening service at Kitasuzurandai MS: preaching) for Lic. Katsunori Endo's eligibility exam to be called. Five exams are all sustained by the elders of the presbytery.

Mr. Katsunori Endo is the first fruit of Kobe Theological Hall's 8 years of work, who becomes RP pastor. We are humbled and so thankful to God for his mercy of such an addition of our King's evangelistic task force in Japan.

After KTH, he has been trained two years at RPTS and earned M.Div., then spent half year for the field work in Irish RPC and its
Theological College. We, Japan Presbytery is deeply thankful for the provision of both institutions for him and for the kindness shown by
numerous brothers and sisters for his family.

The Endo, with his wife Yuko and two children: Ryo and Kei, settled well at the Kitasuzurandai MS as the resident preacher now. Please pray for the clear calling to him from the Lord and procedure of the call from a Japanese MS or congregation.

MS is still small, so we are in necessary negotiation of support from FMB, though our hope is to maintain the self-supporting principle in case it is possible for the church. Please pray for the wisdom to the elders of Japan Presbytery who deals with this matter.

And now, please join us to rejoice in the Lord for his goodness, and pray for Katsunori's fruitful ministry for His kingdom in Japan.

Sincerely in His service,
Shigeru Takiura
Japan Presbytery RPCNA/KTH

Prayer notes:

  1. Two younger pastors: Sumito and Hiro will attend the synod from Japan. I miss the fellowship and discussion at the synod this year, but need to stay here with Jim, since our seminary is still in the midst of the semester since we go by the Japanese school calender.

  2. Dr.Gamble will help KTH from June 10 to 21. He will teach and preach in Japan in various ways. His family also participate various evangelism activities by the support of an RP congregation. Please pray for these plan, too. His theme will be Introduction to ST for the students of KTH, and the Covenant Theology for Teachers of KTH.
